Anatomy and Physiology encompasses a review of the human body, its functions and pathologies. In this course, we will review basic human structural and functional organization at both the microscopic and macroscopic level. Units will include discussions of the basic body systems including the musculo-skeletal, circulatory, nervous, reproductive, lymphatic, pulmonary, and digestive systems. Also included are discussions of human genetics, heredity, evolution, and psychology, as well as a review of recent advances in medical technology. This course takes a holistic approach to the study of the human body, with the goal of preparing students for a university program in the medical sciences. As in all science courses, you will develop critical thinking skills and become fluent in the scientific method.
